Cathy's Owner Catherine Liu is a teacher and cookbook author. The restaurant's eclectic menu includes Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and American cuisine. The variety of foods served here, as well as the comfortable atmosphere appeals to people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. All of the fare is very fresh and the menu even includes a nutrition analysis for each entree. Specialties include tamales (made with sticky rice instead of masa and steamed in banana leaves), roast pork buns, and shrimp wonton noodle bowl (succulent shrimp with al dente wontons and rice noodles). However, the general's chicken is not recommended. A reservations-only banquet room is available for large groups and receptions. BYOB is encouraged.
